Noorhaidi Hasan adalah profesor Islam dan politik dan sekarang juga menjabat Direktur Pascasarjana UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Minat penelitiannya cukup beragam dan interdisipliner, meliputi tema-tema seperti Salafisme, radikalisme Islam, politik identitas dan kaum muda. Ia mendapatkan gelar PhD dari Utrecht University (2005), MPhil dari International Institute for the Study of Islam in the Modern World (2000) dan MA dari Leiden University (1999), semuanya dengan predikat cum laude. Setelah menyelesaikan studi doktoral, Noorhaidi memperluas pengalaman akademik dengan menjadi post-doc fellow di National University of Singapore (2006-2007), research fellow di KITLV Leiden (2007-2009), visiting research fellow di Nanyang Technological University (2009-2010), visiting professor di EHESS Paris (2010), dan affiliated research fellow di Clingendael Den Haag (2010-2011). Ia juga aktif mengajar dan mempresentasikan paper di berbagai seminar, workshop, dan konferensi internasional. Sebelum menjadi Direktur Pascasarjana, ia mengemban amanat sebagai Dekan Fakultas Syariah dan Hukum UIN Sunan Kalijaga (2011-2015). Sekarang ia menjadi koordinator dan peneliti utama proyek penelitian 3 tahun yang didukung oleh Dana Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia “Future Trajectories of Indonesian Muslim Youth: Between Islamism and Cosmopolitanism”.
