Roma Ulinnuha adalah dosen Pascasarjana dengan minat kajian isu minoritas, studi agama, cultural studies, relasi Islam-Barat dan persoalan identitas. Menyelesaikan Program DoktoralS-3 ICRS (Indonesian Consortium for inter-Religious Studies), konsorsium tiga universitas – Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga dan Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana Yogyakarta dengan disertasi tentang relasi agama dan identitas pada Muslim Amerika dengan perspektif critical discourse analysis. Sejumlah aktifitas akademiknya antara lain, sebagai redaksi Jurnal ilmiah studi agama-agama RELIGI dan editor beberapa Jurnal ilmiah lainnya seperti jurnal ilmu-ilmu Ushuluddin ESENSIA dan LEKSEMA. Sekarang menjadi pengelola asosiasi Studi Agama-Agama se-Indonesia (ASAI), dengan partisipasi akademik dan kerjasama dalam AICIS (Annual International Conference of Islamic Studies), Al-Jamiah Research Center, AIPI (Akademi Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia), Mahidol University - Thailand, Graduate Theological Union (GTU), Pacific School of Religion (PSR) - Berkeley - California serta Goethe University - Frankfurt am Main, Jerman.
