Dr. Moch Nur Ichwan, MA adalah dosen tetap dan Kordinator Program Doktor Pascasarjana UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta (sejak 2015-), setelah sebelumnya menjadi Ketua Prodi Agama dan Filsafat Program Magister (2011-2014). Dia mendapatkan gelar PhD-nya dalam bidang Studi Agama dan Politik Islam dari Tilburg University (November 2006), MA dalam bidang Studi Islam dari Leiden University (1999), dan S.Ag dari IAIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta (1995). Dia mendapatkan grant penelitian dari International Institute for the Study of Islam in the Modern World (ISIM) (2007) dengan judul “Ulama, State and Ummah: The Majelis Ulama Indonesia and the Search for New Recognition in a Post-Soeharto Era”; post-doc fellowship KNAW (The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences) dalam kerangka Scientific Programme Indonesia Netherlands (SPIN) (2008-2009) dengan judul Ulama and Re-islamisation of the Public Sphere: The Indonesian Council of Ulama and Glocal Challenges in the Post-Soeharto Era”; dan post-doc fellowship Islam Research Program (IRP) Leiden University (2010-2012) dengan judul Alternative to Shari’atism in Aceh after the Tsunami, serta research fellowship Contending Modernities dari University of Notre Dame (2016-2018) (bersama Prof Arskal Salim dan Prof. Eka Sri Mulyani) dengan judul “Religious Authorities, Minorities and Identities: Inter-Religious Relations in Post-Conflict Aceh, Indonesia.”. Minat penelitiannya termasuk praktik dan pemikiran politik Islam Indonesia, peran sosial dan politik ulama, Islam pasca-konflik di Aceh, tatakelola agama, dan hermeneutika Islam. Dia menjadi narasumber di sejumlah konferensi dan workshop nasional dan internasional (Belanda, Perancis, Jerman, Amerika, Mesir, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Singapura, Jepang, dan Australia).
